Brookhaven Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

BROOKHAVEN, Miss.- A man was shot and killed Sunday night in Brookhaven. 25-year-old Bogue Chitto resident Kelcay Humphreys died at Kings Daughters Medical Center from the injuries he sustained in the shooting Sunday night.

The incident occurred at the Cloverdale apartment complex on Martin Luther King drive in Brookhaven, WAPT-TV reports.

According to witnesses, a man walked up behind Humphreys as he was walking towards the apartment complex and fired eight to ten shots in his back.

Humphreys was convicted of manslaughter back in 2008 in connection with the death of a Monticello man, and sentenced to 15 years, but was out on earned-release supervision.
