GULFPORT, Miss.–After an autopsy, the death of a 5-year-old girl at her home has been ruled accidental drowning by a coroner.
Jakiya Griffin became unresponsive while in the bathtub last Friday according to the Sun Herald after her mom walked out of the bathroom for less than one minute.
She told police she went to grab a towel and when she came back Jakiya wasn’t breathing.
CPR attempts were unsuccessful on the child and she was pronounced dead at the hospital hours later.
