Choctaw Child Now Brain Dead: Three-Year-Old Run Over in Parking Lot, Car Takes Off

PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–It was a hit and run in the parking lot of Gamestop in Philadelphia that has left a three-year-old girl in critical condition at a Jackson hospital. It happened Thursday and WJTV was reporting Wednesday that the child had been declared brain dead.

Kazlyn Thomas is a member of the Miss. Band of Choctaw Indians.

Philadelphia Police think the driver was a woman, driving a dark colored Trailblazer. Thomas was walking in the parking lot when she was run over about 5:40 p.m.

“We want to say thank you to all the people praying for our dear daughter and ask that you continue to send prayers her way,” said parents Keantry Thomas and Skylar Lewis in a statement to media. “Our daughter being the fighter she has always been is right now fighting for her life. Her condition at this moment is not good. We, along with our extended family, have been by her side and will continue to be for as long as it takes. Again thank you to those who have kept her in their thoughts and prayers.”

Philadelphia Police are asking for information. If you know who the driver was, call 601-656-2131.
