Clayton Kelly Trial Delayed, Now Set for This Summer

MADISON COUNTY, Miss.–In the Rose Cochran photo scandal, political blogger Clayton Kelly’s trial has been delayed until June 8. He was originally supposed to stand trial this week on burglary charges.

Kelly is accused of breaking into Rose Cochran’s room at St. Catherine’s Village, where she lived from 200 until her death last year, and taking photos and videos and posting them on his blog site.

It happened as Cochran’s husband, U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran was running for re-election against state Sen. Chris McDaniel. Cochran won the race.

There was talk of a plea deal for Kelly, but so far that has not happened. Other co-conspirators did take plea deals. John Mary was one of those. He got five years probation. Atty. Mark Mayfield was also charged and later committed suicide.
