The Comment That Stopped a Cochran Conference Call (AUDIO)

JACKSON, Miss. – A Thad Cochran campaign conference call for national media was ended abruptly by campaign advisor Austin Barbour after a man interrupted the call asking about “harvesting black votes.” The call was meant to address Chris McDaniel campaign’s claims of irregular voting, which the Cochran campaign called “desperate measures” to inflate the number of votes that they had issues with.

The number for the conference call was reposted on twitter by blogger Charles C. Johnson, who has wrote several negative pieces about Thad Cochran’s Campaign. He encouraged people to crash the call.

You can listen to the full press conference here. The conference is interrupted at 00:07:35.

After the conference ends, several people continue to stay on the line and talk among themselves. One woman chimed and said the man who made the racist remarks “was not doing Chris McDaniel any favors.” It was also suggested that it was a Cochran campaign plot.
