Cooler Temps on the Way: Storms Sweeping Slowly Across the State

Jackson, Miss– Rain and storms are moving across the state today bringing cooler temperatures.

A tornado watch is in effect for Attala; Carroll; Choctaw; Clarke; Clay; Copiah; Covington; Forrest; Grenada; Hinds; Holmes; Humphreys; Jasper; Jefferson Davis; Jones; Kemper; Lamar; Lauderdale; Lawrence; Leake; Leflore; Lincoln; Lowndes; Madison; Marion; Montgomery; Neshoba; Newton; Noxubee; Oktibbeha; Rankin; Scott; Simpson; Smith; Sunflower; Webster; Winston; Yazoo; Bolivar; Issaquena; Sharkey; Warren; Washington; Hancock; Harrison; Jackson; Pearl River; Calhoun; Coahoma; George; Greene; Panola; Perry; Quitman; Stone; Tallahatchie; Wayne; Yalobusha and Walthall counties until 8am.

North Mississippi, thunderstorms and rain throughout the day, 70’s for the high, dropping into the 50’s tonight.

When the storms clear out for Central Mississippi, temps will be much cooler with a high in the 60s, lows dropping into the 40s.

Storms and rain during the day for South Mississippi, clearing up with highs hitting the upper 60s, 50’s overnight.

Much cooler with sunshine during the day Tuesday, with storms returning at night.

North Mississippi upper 50’s for the high, dropping into the 30s overnight.

Central Mississippi sunny and in the upper 50’s for the day, but storms are back during the night, lower 50’s overnight.

South Mississippi, 60’s for the high and cloudy with storms back during the night, upper 50’s for the lows.
