Copiah County Grandma Goes on Trial This Week for Embezzlement

COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. – The Copiah County grandma accused of embezzling money from her job and skipping town is set to stand trial this week.

Linda Gale Reed was reported missing in April of last year after her car was found abandoned near Crystal Springs.  A few months later police listed her as a fugitive on the run.  They say the 65-year-old embezzled $20,000 from Moore’s Fabrications where she worked as a bookkeeper.  Reed was arrested in Texas this past October.  She was working as a bookkeeper for a company there under her real name.

She has pleaded not guilty to three counts of embezzlement and is set to stand trial Tuesday.
