Couple Found Beaten to Death in Their House, No Arrests in Pontotoc Double Murder

ECRU, Miss.–Likely beaten to death in the same room, Donald and Evelyn Baker were found in different rooms when deputies got to the house Sunday morning about 9:30. Now the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Dept. is asking for your help if you know anything about who may have killed them.

The Bakers were murdered in the Shady Grove area, near Ecru. They were found by a relative just about the time you were headed into Sunday school.

Sheriff Leo Mask told WTVA that his deputies expect to conduct more interviews today.

Autopsy results confirmed the deaths were from a beating. Donald Baker was 70 and Evelyn was 57.

Detectives believe Mrs. Baker was dragged into the kitchen after she was killed.
