Deadline for Mississippi Top 50 nominations looming

It’s year two for the Mississippi Top 50 and Friday, August 18 is the last day you’ll have a chance to nominate someone.

The Mississippi Top 50 is comprised of individuals who are judged to be the most influential leaders in the state. This group comes from three categories:

  1. Elected and appointed officials
  2. Economic development professionals
  3. Business, media and government affairs.

“If you had something that you wanted to get done in Mississippi, policy wise or whatever, who are the 50 people you would want conscripted into that effort,” said Alan Lange, creator of Y’all Politics who sponsors the event along with Supertalk Mississippi.

The event allows for the spotlight to shine on what is done right in the Magnolia state every year while applauding those individuals who prove what leadership should be.

Lange said that they’ve already seen double the nominations this year than they did the first and there are still a few days left.
