Deputy Attacked Overnight in Hancock County, The Men Who Jumped Him Still Not Caught

PEARLINGTON, Miss.–A Hancock County deputy got a nasty bump and cut on the forehead and other injuries when he was jumped by two men overnight, reported TV station WLOX. He’s out of the hospital, but the men who did it have not been caught.

Sheriff Ricky Adam told the TV station that the deputy saw a suspicious vehicle parked on Old Hwy. 90 near Pearlington. When he got out to investigate, he heard people behind a fence. Two men came out and attacked him.

The deputy was able to release a K9 officer from his car after one of the men went for his gun.

He believes the men may have been bitten, but they still managed to run off.

If you know who the men are or where they are, call the Hancock County Sheriff’s Dept. Bay St. Louis and Waveland Police are helping out.
