DeSoto man charged for 3-year-old’s murder

A DeSoto County man is in custody for the alleged murder of a 3-year-old child. 

Reports state that 30-year-old Christopher Waldrop has been charged for the murder of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter, Baylee Allen. 

According to multiple reports, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department has stated that the child died of “shaken baby syndrome” after the injuries occurred at a home on Kaitlynn Drive back on October 19th. Allen was taken to a local hospital, but after being put on life support, she was declared brain dead. 

The body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy. 

Waldrop is being held without bond in the DeSoto County Adult Detention Facility.
