DNA Evidence Helps Find Abuser From 35 Years Ago

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss.–Thirty-five years ago, a Mississippi girl endured some really tough times. She was abused from 1977 to 1984 while she was 10 to 17. Now the man who did it may have been caught, after many years and a stretch of over one thousand miles.

WCBI-TV in Columbus reports 70-year-old Lindsay Workman of Glendale, Utah has been ID’d by a new DNA test as the father of a baby that was born to the young lady while the abuse happened. He is now charged with sexual battery and is in jail in Mississippi.

The victim is now 46. It was unclear when a trial date may be set.
