Double Murder in Rankin County, A Husband and Wife in Their 70s, Arrest Made

FLORENCE, Miss.–When a friend of the husband and wife found dead yesterday near Florence couldn’t get them to come to the door, he walked around back and saw the woman dead on the floor. That’s when he called 911.

The bodies of a husband and wife in their 70s were found Tuesday, just after 5 p.m., said Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey. Their deaths are being investigated as a homicide and the MBI is assisting.

Bailey did not discuss with media how the two died, but did say they were probably killed inside the house.

An arrest was made sometime before Wednesday morning. Bailey did not discuss a name or motive with media.
