DUI Charge For Woman Who Clipped Jeep, Forced It Off I-55 Overpass

JACKSON, Miss.–A dramatic wreck Saturday afternoon killed a father and son from Illinois. The wreck happened about 3 p.m. when a car driven by Yolanda McNeely, 47, of Ridgeland, hit the Jeep and forced it off the I-55 overpass in Jackson. It crashed onto the Woodrow Wilson on-ramp below.

Robert Sims, 63, and his son Randall Sims, 27, both of Edwardsville, Ill., died in the wreck.

Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green told media that McNeely was later arrested when cops caught up with her in downtown Jackson, and she was charged with aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, felony fleeing.
