Edwards Doctor Making House Calls Meeting With State Medical Board

EDWARDS, MISS– Dr. Frazier Landrum, the 88 year-old doctor that practices medicine out of his car in Edwards, is going before the state medical licensing board tomorrow.

Dr. Landrum had been making house calls and seeing patients from his car when the board launched an investigation into his practices.

“It is not clear why the Board has opened an inquiry into Dr. Landrum’s practice,” said Christina Sandefur, r attorney at the Goldwater Institute, representing Dr. Landrum. “The Board has threatened Dr. Landrum, but has yet to provide a valid legal reason for demanding that he surrender his medical license. We want to ensure the Board gives Dr. Landrum a fair chance to address any concerns.”

The people of Edwards have been fundraising and working hard to convert an old post office into a functioning medical office; for now it holds records and his certificate.

Nearly 80,000 people have signed a petition calling for the board to allow Dr. Landrum to continue his work. If you wish to sign the petition, you can do so at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/113/603/550/please-petition-88-year-old-dr-carrol-frazier-landrum-to-keep-his-mississippi-medical-license/
