TUPELO, Miss.- If you’re an Elvis Presley fan you’ll be in for a real treat this weekend.
Tupelo’s 16th annual Elvis Presley Festival starts this Thursday, June 5th and goes through June 8th. The festival is to honor Tupelo’s native son, Elvis Presley, and the impact that his music has had on the world.
Each year’s festival features regional, national and local artists along with a Sunday Gospel Concert and a Tribute Artist Contest. Not only will you hear great music but, the festival features a number of local food vendors, a carnival midway, pet parade, beauty pageant, 5k run, disc golf, movie poster exhibit, and much more.
The festival was started in 1999 as one of the only eleven festivals in the United States officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises and includes an Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Preliminary Round as part of event.
