VICKSBURG, Miss. – Something extra for an embattled Warren County Circuit Clerk to be thankful for. A two-count criminal indictment against her has been dropped.
Attorney General Jim Hood says there was a docketing error in the handling of the indictment against Shelly Ashley-Palmertree. She had been scheduled for trial December 9; and she’s still not completely out of hot legal water just yet. The order dropping her mishandled charges does not prohibit the AG’s office from seeking a new indictment later.
