PORT GIBSON, Miss. — The state’s alligator season fished off this weekend with a monster.
Seven hundred and forty-one pounds of reptile was caught off the Mississippi River near Port Gibson by John, Turner, and Jennifer Ratliff, and Jimmy Greer of Canton.They now hold the record for biggest gator ever caught in the state, beating two other gators from the weekend before, both which weighed over 700 pounds.
The gator also tied the state’s longest alligator record at 13 feet, 6 and a half inches.
