Ex-Sheriff Byrd Makes List of America’s Worst Bosses

PASCAGOULA, Miss. – For the past six years EbossWatch.com has published a list of America’s Worst Bosses. This year one Mississippian made the list. Coming in at number 17 was former Jackson County Sheriff Mike Bird.

Byrd had actually resigned from office in December 2013. He was sentenced in March 2014 year on state and federal charges. Byrd originally had over 31 charges against him including fraud, embezzlement, and perjury, but most were dropped during a plea deal. He served six months of house arrest and is currently on probation.

The states with the highest number of bad bosses on the list were New York (13), Texas (11), California (11), New Mexico (5), Georgia (5), New Jersey (4), and Kentucky (4).
