Facebook post goes viral after officer refused service in Moss Point

MOSS POINT, MISS–  Social media outrage has ensued after a uniformed Pascagoula officer was refused service at the deli counter of a Piggly Wiggly in Moss Point.

Facebook user Hannah Mae alleged via a post that her fiancé was denied service by two people working at the deli of the grocery store.

Store Manager Barry Carmack told News Mississippi that he is aware of the situation, and it is under investigation.

“Right now, I have statements from my employees,” he said. “I don’t have an official complaint from the accuser just yet, just the Facebook post.”

Carmack said even without the formal statement, corporate is already involved.

“I’m trying to get my statements lined up,” Carmack said. “But it is all the way to the top. We’re going to get it taken care of.”

News Mississippi will continue to update this story.
