In north Mississippi, there is a heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. this evening. During the day, expect partly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 90s and heat index readings will range from 100 to 105. At night, mostly cloudy skies in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms and lows will be in the mid-70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny today with patchy fog in the morning and scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will be in the lower 90s and “feels like” temperatures will range from 100 to 104. Tonight, some clouds with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Lows will dip down into the mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and continuing into the afternoon. Highs will climb up into the lower 90s and the heat index will be anywhere between 100 and 105. In the evening, partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening and continuing after midnight. Lows will be in the mid-70s.
