HARRISON COUNTY, Miss.- Victims of the April 28 flood will not be receiving federal funding from FEMA.

FEMA claims the amount of damage South Mississippi areas experienced did not meet the requirements for a disaster designation.

Harrison county took on 11 inches of rain which caused several streets to flood. The rain also effected river water levels which caused flooding into homes and businesses.

Officials report 295 homes were damaged, 60 apartments and 29 businesses.
