First day of fall: Warm day, pleasant night ahead

JACKSON, MISS– Thursday is the first official day of fall, but it appears Mississippi’s weather pattern missed the memo that folks are ready for highs to drop. 

North Mississippi, sunny, with a high near 93 degrees today. Tonight should be clear with a low around 70. Tomorrow, we’ll kick off the first weekend of fall 2016 with sunny skies and a high temperature of 93 degrees.
South Mississippi, sunshine as well, today, reaching up to a high of 89 degrees. Mostly clear tonight, with a low around 75. Tomorrow, there’s a  20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Breezes of 10 mph in the afternoon.
Central Mississippi, sunny today, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 97. Tonight, mostly clear, with a low around 70. Mostly sunny tomorrow, as we gratefully barrel toward the first weekend of autumn,  with a high near 93.
