VIDEO: Brookhaven Shooting; Two Dead, Three in Hospital

BROOKHAVEN, Miss.- Two people have been confirmed dead after a shooting in Brookhaven Thursday night.

Five people were believed to have been beaten and shot at a home on South First Street in Brookhaven.

Jermaine Sims Sr., his wife and their four kids were at the home when the shooting took place.

Police Chief Bobby Bell said, Jermaine Sims Sr. has died along with one of the children, 9-year-old Jamiyah Sims.

The two other children are at a Jackson hospital. Jermaine’s wife, Victoria, is at a hospital in McComb.

WJTV reporting, Jimmy Lyons, 32, was renting a room from the Sims family.

Police Chief Bobby Bell said they believe the shooting was brought on by an argument between the two men.

Lyons has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
