JACKSON, MISS– Actress Aunjuane Ellis calls for the movie business to boycott Mississippi until the flag is changed.
Ellis says the stars and bars symbol on the state flag is a symbol of inequality and oppression. Ellis is best known for her work in “Ray” and “The Help.”
The actress not only pulls her own acting, but her film company as well. Miss Myrtis Films is headed to Louisiana until the flag is changed.
Governor Phil Bryant released a statement that he would not call a special session over the flag last week.
