Flash flood watch issued for southeast/coastal Mississippi through tonight

As heavy moisture rolls northward from the Gulf of Mexico, Mississippi can expect heavy rains with embedded thunderstorms cropping up for the next several days.

This has prompted the National Weather Service, New Orleans, to issue a flash flood watch for much of the area south of the I-20 corridor. Areas such as Wiggins and Biloxi can expect upwards of 2 inches of rain, with some areas experiencing locally heavy downpours of even greater amount.

Remember: never drive through flooded roadways and use extreme caution crossing flooded streets on foot.
