Ford recalling 202k vehicles to fix transmissions

DETROIT, MI.- Ford is recalling pickups, SUVs and cars in North America for transmission issues that result in a car suddenly downshifting to first gear.

All 2011 and 2012 Ford F-150 and 2013 Expedition, Mustang, and Lincoln Navigator’s should be taken to the nearest dealer and tested.

Dealers will inspect sensors that are causing vehicles to downshift at incorrect speeds. If they find no trouble codes they will update your software all free of charge.

The problem has caused three crashes and no injuries.

They also will be recalling more than 81,000 Explorer SUVs to fix a rear suspension issue.

Vehicles bought in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from 2014 to 2015 should be inspected. The company will replace the left and right rear suspension toe links and align the rear suspension at no cost to owner.
