Both Former Chief Deputy and Paramedic Lost Within a Week in Warren County

VICKSBURG, Miss.–The law enforcement and rescue communities in Warren County have both suffered big losses as former interim sheriff and chief deputy Othor Jones and paramedic Drue Randolph died within just a few days of one another in separate incidents.

Randolph, who served with the Vicksburg Fire Dept., and was within a couple of weeks from retirement, died New Year’s Day in a car wreck in Louisiana, reported WAPT. Funeral services are Wednesday at Emanuel Baptist Church.

Jones, who served with the Warren County Sheriff’s Dept. for over 30 years, was found dead in his home this weekend, apparently of a heart attack. He was 77.

Jones joined the department in 1972 and served as chief deputy from 1996, through his retirement in 2002. He was a respected law enforcement officer who remained close with the department in the 13 years since he retired.
