Former Congressional Candidate Arrested in Madison County

CANTON, Miss.–Police have arrested a man who ran in last year’s U.S. congressional race.

Cobby Williams ran against incumbent Bennie Thompson last year and has been arrested now for for voter fraud.

Specifically prosecutors say he filed a false voter registration application for a woman who is a felon and thus not eligible to vote.

Williams has been released on a $20,000 bond and is awaiting trial.
