Former Tiger Receiver Named New JSU Head Football Coach

JACKSON, Miss. – Harold Jackson has been chosen take on the job as Jackson State University’s (JSU) new head football coach.

The Hattiesburg native was a former wide receiver for the Tigers before he was picked up by the NFL in 1968. He played 17 seasons before retiring in 1986.

Jackson has had coaching jobs with several NFL teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints. He has also had a hand coaching college teams such as Kentucky, and Baylor.

JSU fired their former coach Rick Comgy back in December. He is expected to be named head coach at one of JSU’s rival schools Mississippi Valley State.
