Forrest County graduate dies in car wreck

On Friday morning 18 year-old Savannah Gibson died in a car wreck on state Highway 13 in Forrest County. She swerved into the other lane and collided with a semitractor-trailer that was carrying liquid asphalt.

Savannah graduated from  Forrest County Agricultural High School just the night before.

The school is starting grief counseling support starting today.

Governor Phil Bryant made a statement on his Facebook page that read, “Another tragedy involving a young Mississippian. Please pray for her family and loved ones. And let us lift up all our graduates. Their entire lives lie ahead, hopefully full of happiness and prosperity.”
