Gautier Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Child Pornography

PASCAGOULA, Miss.- A Gautier man will do 18 years behind bars and 12 under post-release supervision after pleading guilty to exploiting a child and touching a kid for lustful purposes.

The Mississippi Press reported that Judge Kathy King Jackson sentenced Daniel Adam Phillips to 30 years on an exploitation charge, with the first 18 years in prison. He will serve a 15 year sentence for lustful touching at the same time.

The charges came after child pornography was found on Phillips phone in 2012 and the abuse of a family acquaintance at an apartment playground last year.

Phillips will have to pay court costs, $3,000 in fines, $100 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund and $1000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund.
