George County man on run after prison escape

A state inmate has escaped from a George County correctional facility.

37-year-old Eugene Robinson escaped the George County Regional Correctional Facility in Lucedale at 7 p.m. Saturday February 3rd.

Officials say he fled in a champagne GMC Sonoma truck stolen from an officer at the facility. The truck has Greene County license plate #GR7 315. Robinson is serving a total of 30 years for armed robbery in Choctaw County and burglary in Oktibbeha County. He has been in prison since 2003. Robinson is described as being 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds.
