Girl’s Leg Amputated Due to Accident: How You Can Help

SIMPSON COUNTY– A lawnmower accident has lead a five year-old girl to multiple surgeries, a leg amputation, and a long road ahead.

Kiptyn Lewis is smiley-faced, red-headed little 5 year-old kindergartener. On October 3, she was in a horrible lawnmower accident, and her leg had to be amputated. On the Kiptyn Lewis Medical Fund GoFundMe page, the description says she will have to go through numerous skin grafts, and she’s already had four surgeries.

While the GoFundMe was set up for Kiptyn’s medical expenses, the family has decided that what doesn’t get spent on her prosthetic will towards a college fund.

“They said that money was given to Kiptyn and that they want her to benefit from it,” says Alyssa Snellgrove, a family friend helping with the gofundme account.
