Golden Egg Headed Back to Oxford, Golden Eagles Headed to C-USA Championship

JACKSON, MISS—  The Egg Bowl is over, and senior night didn’t go as planned for Quarterback Dak Prescott and the 15 other senior Bulldogs.

The Golden Egg is headed back to Oxford. Ole Miss was holding a lead all throughout the game as Mississippi State struggled in the first half, not scoring a touchdown until well into the 3rd quarter. The Bulldogs did close the lead, but in the end the Rebs took it home 38-27. This is the first time Ole Miss took the trophy home from Starkville since 2003.

This year has proved to be a turnaround for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, as they are now Conference USA Championship bound. The Nasty Bunch dominated over Louisiana Tech with a 58-24 victory Saturday. This also makes 6 wins in a row and 5 games this year scoring over 50 points. With the CUSA West Division Title in Hand, the Championship game is ahead.
