Gov. Bryant Calls Special Session for More Attorneys

JACKSON, Miss. – The legislative session is not even over and Governor Phil Bryant is already calling lawmakers into a special session at 1:30 p.m. today. He wants them to provide money for more assistant district attorneys (DAs) throughout the state.

Bryant made the recommendation for more assistant DAs in his 2015 budget to help with growing caseloads, but lawmakers were not able to reach an agreement before Monday’s deadline.
