JACKSON, Miss.- The inauguration for Republican Phil Bryant will be held on January 12.

His first inauguration was in 2012 and was inside of the state Capitol due to bad weather, however this year they are hoping for clearer skies so that the ceremony can be held outside.

Scott McClintock is responsible for planning and has incorporated a backup plan incase anything needs to be moved to the House of Representatives chamber.

WAPT reports that the inaugural ball will be that evening at the Jackson Convention Complex. The event is “black tie and boots optional” and is open to the public, tickets are $50.
