Gov gets legislative go ahead to move more from Rainy Day Fund

Governor Phil Bryant now has the permission of the House and Senate to take an additional $50 million from the Rainy Day Fund and move it to the General Fund to pay off bills through the end of the current fiscal year, ending June 30.

The House voted 104-8 in favor of the latest conference report, while the Senate voted 44-8. The bill now heads to the Governor, and he is expected to sign it.

Friday, the Governor announced his fourth mid-year withdrawal from the Rainy Day fund, saying it was his responsibility the balance the budget.
