Group Pushes For Parole for Elderly, Sick Inmates

JACKSON, MISS– Operation Help Civil Rights Group of Memphis says Mississippi allow elderly, sick, or bedridden inmates to be eligible for parole.

Wendol Lee of the group says the inmates aren’t threats and by not letting them out, the prison system is keeping them from healthcare and costing taxpayer money to keep them there.

Lee met with the parole board chairman and says they’re looking into it, reports WTVA.
