The Gulfport PD is searching for a man on the run in connection with a shooting that occurred on Sunday.

Officers responded to a call after shots were fired on 30th street around 11:00 p.m. last night. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a 20-year-old victim who had suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and leg. The man was transported to Memorial Hospital, and he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Along with the victim, the Gulfport PD also found a “large amount of what appeared to be marijuana” scattered in the parking lot at the scene of the shooting. An initial investigation revealed that an unknown male approached and began shooting at the victim. The suspect then fled the area. As of right now, there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and if you have any information, contact the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at www.mscoastcrimestoppers.com or by telephone at (877)787-5898.
