Hattiesburg PD searching for suspect in shooting, two arrested

The Hattiesburg Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a Friday shooting that left six injured.

The department has stated that 26-year old Rhakim Jamal James is wanted for six counts of Aggravated Assault in reference to the recent shooting at La Fiesta Bravo, a bar/restaurant in the area.

Ferlandus Stewart and Kedarrius Pugh have been arrested and charged with hindering prosecution as a result of an investigation following the shooting. Stewart was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

When officers arrived on the scene late Friday night, shots were fired as the suspect(s) fled the scene in a vehicle. No officers were injured from the gunfire.

All six of those injured in the shooting suffered non-life-threatening injuries. According to a media release, the victims were already being transported for medical care when officers arrived. Four of the six injured are from Laurel, Ellisville, and Waynesboro, but none of their names have been released.
