Heat advisory issued as dangerous heat creeps in. How to stay safe.

The recent rain that’s rolled across the southeast has left the ground heavily saturated. That’s not a good situation to have as high temperatures rise into the mid 90s around Mississippi.

Heavy humidity is expected to rise as the sunshine boils off water from the soil, adding to heat indices that will push into the 105-110 degree range as the weekend nears.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 7pm Thursday night, and expect to issue more through the weekend. Heat is one of the leading weather-related killers in the US. Use extreme caution as you work outside, and be sure to keep plenty of water nearby.
