Heat in the 90s, feels like 112 – 6-28-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, there is a heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. Friday. Today, expect mostly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid-90s and heat index readings will range from 103 to 108. At night, partly cloudy skies expected with lows in the mid to upper 70s.

In central Mississippi, there is a heat advisory in effect from 10 a.m. this morning to 8 p.m. tonight. Sunny skies are expected today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 90s and those heat index readings will be anywhere from 107 112.  In the evening, mostly clear skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highs will climb up into the mid-90s and the heat indices will range from 102 to 107. Tonight, partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will be in the mid-70s.
