There is a dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. this morning. Today, expect mostly sunny skies with some areas of dense fog with visibility near a quarter mile or less at times in the morning. There will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will be in the lower 90s and heat index reading will range from 100 to 105. Tonight, partly cloudy in the evening, then showers and thunderstorms are likely after midnight. Lows will dip down into the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, expect mostly sunny skies today with some patchy fog in the morning and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will reach the lower 90s. Heat index readings will range from 102 to 107. In the evening, partly cloudy skies are expected along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny skies today with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will climb into the lower 90s while the heat index readings will get up to 105 today. At night, partly cloudy skies are expected and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms as well. Lows will be in the mid-70s.
