If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, there are plenty of options in Mississippi.

If you’re looking for a taste of barbecue, head to the DeSoto Shrine Club’s 9th annual Kansas City Barbecue Cook Off in Hernando. This contest has been proclaimed by the governor of Mississippi as a State Championship and sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. With that competition, you’re sure to get the best barbecue Mississippi has to offer.

To embrace your crafty side, check out the Green Market and Craft Fair at Dogwood Festival Market in Flowood. You’ll get to shop and taste high quality produce, baked goods, and other foods as well as browse the crafts from some of the area’s most talented artists.

Get your last chance at the carnival this weekend for the final days of the 31st Annual South Mississippi Summer Fair.. there will be games, food, rides, and fun for the whole family.)
