Heroin seized in Rankin county drug bust

RANKIN COUNTY- Rankin County Interstate Task Force Deputy Robbie Sanders made a traffic stop on Sunday night around 10:00 p.m. 

Upon making the stop the deputy searched the vehicle after suspicion that they were transporting drugs and/or contraband. The search was consensual

During the search officials found 9.2 pounds of heroin concealed in the vehicle.

The driver, Ashley Ann Silva and passenger, Avanna Ann Silva were both arrested for aggravated trafficking of heroin and transported to the Rankin County Jail.

District Attorney Michael Guest will be prosecuting the two before Rankin County Court Judge Kent McDaniel. No bond has been set.

The street value for the drugs found is around $225,000.
