High School Basketball Player Critical After Out of State Crash

JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi High School basketball player is in critical condition after being involved in a car crash in Minnesota that left two brothers dead.

Jimmy Morton, 18, of Jackson was headed to a basketball tournament in Wisconsin with four other teenagers when the crash happened.  Troopers said the driver, 18-year-old Zach Kvalvog, had just passed an 18-wheeler when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and it rolled into the median.  Morton, a senior at Lanier High School, was ejected and suffered a head injury.  Kvalvog and his brother Connor, 14, were killed.  Another passenger, Mark Schwandt, 17, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
