ST. MARTIN, Miss. – A homeless man has been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a 14-year-old girl.
Sheriff Charles Britt told The Mississippi Press that Thomas Colten Eichler, 25, was arrested early Thursday morning after the girl’s parents reported the assault to investigators Tuesday.
Jackson County police said the man is homeless.
Eichler is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center waiting for his initial court hearing. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
