House Fires Kill at Least Two Mississippians Over the Weekend

PORT GIBSON, Miss.–A fire in rural Claiborne County killed a man who was in his trailer when it burned Saturday night. Meanwhile a woman in Tunica who was home alone when her house burned also died Saturday night. Both deaths are being investigated.

The fire in Claiborne County that killed Benjamin Brown started about 11 p.m. Brown’s body was set for an autopsy Monday at the state crime lab. He was 52.

The fire in Tunica may have started in Angela Stark’s kitchen, reported WMC-TV. Firefighters were able to get the fire out, but found Starks’ body in the bedroom.

She was 38.
