Hurt on the Job, or Not? Miss. Woman Charged With Insurance Fraud

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss.–IF you fake being hurt on the job, you could end up with a new job, a prison job. That’s the message from Atty. Gen. Jim Hood following the arrest this week of Paulina Wilkerson, 40, of Pass Christian, on insurance fraud charges.

She was indicted by a Harrison County grand jury and charged with insurance and wire fraud. Hood says she transmitted the documents across jurisdictional lines in her scheme to defraud Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company.

The “work-related accident” may never have happened.

Wilkerson could get three years for insurance fraud and if she’s convicted of wire fraud she could get five years in prison.
